What is in the tanning solution?
Sunless tanning products work by creating a response with the top layers of skin. The main ingrediant, Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) sugars, react naturally with the protein in skin to create that tan, golden color tanners are seeking. Shimmer's MagicTan technology uses a DHA self-tanner and a bronzer blend to give you the streak-free golden tan you want - no matter what your skin type. We have also added aloe and moisturizers to keep your skin healthy and golden brown, so you can look good and feel great! All of the components in the tanning solution are approved by the FDA and have been used in food and cosmetics for decades.
top How does the skin get color?
A uniform amount of tanning solution passes through nozzles in a mist form. This tanning mist bonds to the skin. Toweling off the excess solution evens out the bronzer.

How long is the tanning process?
The actual tanning process takes less than 60 seconds.

How many sessions do you need?
You can expect a light to medium tan after one session. Although tanning bi-weekly is common amongst customers who wish to maintain a tan all year around, we don’t recommend back-to-back sessions for first time users.

How long does the tan last?
Exfoliating before tanning prepares the skin for maximum absorbance of the bronzer. It also helps to lengthen the tan. Typically, a tan lasts 5-7 days, depending on how well you take care of your skin. The instant golden color intensifies over the next 24 hours after treatment. Some helpful hints for protecting your tan are: avoid shower or bath within 4-6 hours after treatment; avoid swimming and hottubing since chlorine would bleach out the tan.

Is MagicTan safe?
Yes, all of the components in the tanning solution have been used for centuries in food and cosmetics and are FDA approved. This is a 100% UV-Free tanning process. Magic Tan is for all skin types, even those that freckle, burn or resist tanning. If one has ever had an adverse effect utilizing self-tanning products or moisturizers, he or she might experience similar effects with the tanning solution.

Can Magic Tan be used with tanning beds?
Yes, because this is an alternative to tanning under the sun or tanning beds. Please remember to apply sunscreens when tanning under UV lights.

Yes, this device was designed specifically for those who can’t or don’t want to tan conventionally.

Will the bronzer stain my clothes or hair?
No, the bronzer dries off quickly as you towel off the excess. Color may transfer onto clothes due to excessive perspiration immediately after treatment, but stains come off after wash. At times, the bronzer may get on hair, but your hair doesn’t absorb the color nor will it be discolored by the bronzer.

Should I keep my eyes closed and hold my breath during treatment?
We recommend that you keep your eyes closed during misting.You can, however, open them during the pauses between misting. Furthermore, it’s not harmful to breathe in the mist.
